Love Over Fear

In the Create Anyway Collective (CAC), artists identify their WHY for creating. This is important because It helps when this question arises -- particularly when you're disappointed or frustrated:
"What's the point?"
Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), our brains offer up that question.
The problem arises when we don't have an answer for that question. It might flash through our brains and then stop our creating just like a sweep to the knee (think Karate Kid-style).
So...what is the point of your creating?
It helps to know...so that when disappointment and frustration shows up, you'll have a productive and supportive answer to that question.
Part of my personal answer to this question is:
LOVE OVER FEAR.
Meaning >>> I will move forward, taking more and more action from love rather than fear.
This includes during the creative process (what I create, how often I create, what is infused within what I create).
More love for expressing your ideas, your vulnerability, your True Authentic Self, and what you REALLY want to say with your work.
Less fear about what others will think about it, whether they'll like it (or not).
More loving support of yourself when you take the risk of reworking your piece, and you don't like the result one bit. You really like part of the piece, but now your reworking has ruined even THAT part that you used to like.
When this happens, can you still be kind to yourself? (It's worth getting good at this skill. Develop it, and you'll benefit for the rest of your creative life.)
Less fear about whether you or your work will be appreciated, sell, or whether others will "get" it.
LOVE OVER FEAR.
P.S. Why did I say that it might be fortunate that your brain asks "What's the point?" Because then you can figure out your answer and USE IT to fuel your creating.
When you know THE POINT, you can talk back to your brain and tell it EXACTLY what the point is.
If that question undermines your creating, figure out what the point is and tell it to your brain. It needs to be reminded.
